Tony Kamen, Naples High School boys’ tennis coach of 20-plus years, is regarded as a major asset to high school tennis in the state of Florida.

Over the years, Kamen has been instrumental in developing student-athletes and coaches. He is responsible for turning a program with only two district championships in over 30 years into a steady State contender. Coach Kamen has led his teams to three FHSAA State Championships, seven regional titles, and nine district champion trophies. He owns an impressive regular season record of 257 wins and 72 losses.

During a time when tennis coaches needed more direction, Kamen worked with a few colleagues and the FACA to establish the highly respected, Florida High School Tennis Coaches Association. He became the first Vice President of the FHSTCA and one of two inaugural FHSTCA Hall of Fame inductees in 2017. As a founder and organizer of the Florida High School All-Star Tennis Tournaments, Kamen also participated as a regional coach for the event in its first three years, winning each time.

Always eager to provide direction and share his expertise, Kamen has earned the honors of National Tennis Coach of the Year by the Nation High School Coaches Association, Naples Daily News Spring Sport Coach of the Year (5 times), State Farm Good Neighbor Sportsmanship Coach of the Year (3 times), and Naples High School Coach of the Year in 2012.

Coach Kamen is a Collier County Public Schools Alternative Education teacher and is known for being an exemplary role model to his student-athletes, fellow coaches, and his children.
