An accomplished contest official, Rusty Batcher is known for helping with the development and implementation of the three-man evaluation program for FHSAA baseball umpires. However, that is only the beginning of his legacy.

Batcher has officiated in more than a dozen FHSAA State Championship contests and has called upwards of 75 Final Four games in the sports of baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and football. He has served as an elected member of the FHSAA Officials Advisory Committee and is a member of the Greater Naples Officials Association.

Batcher has worked as a regional baseball evaluator to help determine umpires' eligibility to call contests at the State Tournament level. Additionally, he has evaluated officials at several FHSAA Baseball State Championships and has had a seat on the FHSAA’s officials exam writing committee.

With over 20 years of officiating under his belt, his peers say Batcher is hard-working and dedicated to high school athletics in the state of Florida. Batcher is referred to as a “super role model" for contest officials all over the state and has made an impact that will last forever.
