2023 Girls USA Weightlifting Florida High School State Championships: Know Before You Go

To be held at RP Funding Center in Lakeland

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing (PCTSM) & Polk County Public Schools (PCPS), this week’s 2023 Girls USA Weightlifting Florida High School State Championships will take place inside of George Jenkins Arena at the RP Funding Center. All classes will compete on Saturday, February 18th in a three-session format.

Although Lakeland and the RP Funding Center have been a familiar location for many high school state championship events over the years, this will be the first time however that the RP Funding Center and Polk County community host the weightlifting state championships.

Each classification will compete in two of the three annoucned sessions, with each session staggered to ensure five lighter and five heavier weighted divisions are not competing at the same time for a school.  An awards presentation for the competing divisions will follow at the conclusion of each session. Tickets are currently on sale and available through the RP Funding Center Box Office for an advanced purchase rate of $9.00 per day, and a day of price of $12.00.     • Navarre - Traditional
    • Vero Beach - Snatch
  • Class 2A:
    • Clay (Green Cove Springs) – Traditional
    • Clay (Green Cove Springs) – Snatch
  • Class 1A:
    • Bradford (Starke) - Traditional
    • Suwannee (Live Oak) – Snatch
               *Moving forward, competitors will be awarded in both the Traditional and Olympic style formats.
