GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with
Polk County Sports Marketing &
Polk County Public Schools, this week’s 2023 Boys
USA Weightlifting Florida High School State Championships will take place inside of George Jenkins Arena at the
RP Funding Center. All classes will compete on Saturday, April 15
th in a three-session format.
After successfully hosting the girl’s championships earlier this year, this weekend will mark the first time that the RP Funding Center and City of Lakeland will host the boys portion of the weightlifting state championships.
Each classification will compete in two of the three sessions, with the sessions staggered to ensure the five lighter and five heavier weighted divisions are not competing at the same time for a school. An awards presentation for the competing divisions will follow at the conclusion of each session. Tickets are currently on sale and available through the
RP Funding Center Box Office for an advanced purchase rate of $9.00 per day, and a day of price of $12.00. For a complete schedule, along with state series results and additional event information, please see below or visit the

*Moving forward, competitors will be awarded in both the Traditional and Olympic style formats.
