2025 IBT Wrestling State Championships: Know Before You Go

To be held at Osceola Heritage Park – Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Partnering with Kissimmee Sports for over a decade, the 2025 Florida High School Individual Bracketed Tournament (IBT) Wrestling State Championships are slated to take place this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (March 6th – 8th) at Kissimmee’s Osceola Heritage Park’s - Silver Spurs Arena

All participating wrestlers descending on Kissimmee became eligible to compete in their respective weight class, through a qualification process that has spanned the last few weeks at both their District and Regional events. In addition to crowning individual state champions for each classification in each weight class, overall team championships will be awarded at the event’s conclusion as well.

Some items of note heading into competition, on the boys’ side in Class 3A, South Dade (Homestead) is the current Duals state champion and has won eleven straight IBT championships, currently sitting in second all time, with nineteen, behind Brandon for the most IBT state championships overall in the state’s history. Just like South Dade, Jesuit (Tampa) in Class 2A will seek continued success from the 2025 Dual Championships and last year’s IBT championship to claim their school’s third overall IBT title. Due to classification realignment, Somerset Academy (Pembroke Pines) will be seeking a repeat performance from last year, but will have to do so in Class 2A to claim their third IBT Championship in school history.

On the girls’ side, this will be the fourth year of FHSAA state series competition. Each of the previous three seasons yielded a new state champion, so Hernando (Brooksville) will seek to become the first repeat champion in the history of girls’ competition in FHSAA history.

Structured as a three-day event, action will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, 9:15 a.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The individual finals, which are the culmination of the weekend event, are tentatively scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
