GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Academic Team Champions for the spring of 2020-21 have been announced, and the final classification standings have been calculated as well. Congratulations to Plant (7A), St. Thomas Aquinas (6A), Gulf Breeze (5A), Pine Crest (4A), Berkeley Prep (3A), Foundation Academy (2A) and Blountstown (1A) for being overall classifications winners.
Each classification and overall sport winner receives a commemorative plaque. For overall classification winners, the top 10 schools in each category will receive points. Ten points will be awarded for a first place finish, nine points for second, etc. The school in each class with the highest cumulative point total for the entire school year will get a special award. Points awarded for teams in single-class sports will still count toward the overall standings.
