GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with Lee County Sports Development, the 2021 Florida High School Baseball State Championships will take place both this week and next week at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers. This year’s event will mark the fourth year that Hammond Stadium will play host to the championships, which is also the Spring Training site of Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins and the summer home of the Florida State League's Fort Myers Mighty Mussels of Class A ball.
 
Built within a final four style format, this multiple day championship event will consist of both semifinal and championship title games in each classification. To qualify for their respective state championship games, teams will compete in their classification’s semifinal matchup the day prior.
 
With the classification realignment that went into effect prior to the 2020 season, the championship event has now decreased from nine classifications to seven. Additionally, with Classes 3A-5A still competing in Regional Championships, there are currently no qualified teams returning in title defense from 2019 (2020 event was cancelled). 2021 marks a fresh new year, with most teams competing for their first baseball state championship in school history.
