Brady Lubetsky and Danielle Bell Named Ronald N. Davis Scholar-Athletes of the Year

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Brady Lubetsky and Danielle Bell were named the 2026 FHSAA Ronald N. Davis Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Lubetsky and Bell demonstrated exceptional achievement in both academics and athletics, maintaining impressive GPAs while competing in multiple sports. In addition, both contributed significant hours to community service and earned numerous honors recognizing their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition.

"The Academic All-State Team recognizes the very best of what high school athletics can develop—leaders who excel in the classroom, compete at the highest level, and make a meaningful difference in their communities,” said Florida Dairy Farmers CEO Melissa Gerharter. “Brady and Danielle have set an extraordinary example through their dedication, character, and commitment to service. Florida’s dairy farm families are proud to celebrate their achievements and support them as they take the next step toward bright and promising futures."

Male-Scholar Athlete of the Year: Brady Lubetsky
Brady Lubetsky, Miami Country Day- Graduating from Miami Country Day with a 4.0 GPA, Brady Lubetsky has excelled in academics, athletics, and leadership throughout his high school career. He has earned Head of School Academic Honors throughout high school and the Sapere Aude Award, recognizing him among the top 5% of his class. Brady is actively involved in the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. A dedicated athlete, he competes in cross country, lacrosse, and track & field, serving as a four-year captain in cross country and a three-year captain in lacrosse. He also played a key role as a founding member of the school’s track & field team. Committed to service and leadership, Brady has contributed over 600 volunteer hours with Community Cares National, where he serves as President, supporting international disaster relief efforts. The son of Cary and Caryn Lubetsky, Brady will attend Cornell University to study engineering while participating in the Air Force ROTC on a four-year Type 4 technical scholarship.

Female-Scholar Athlete of the Year: Danielle Bell
Danielle Bell, Jensen Beach- Danielle has demonstrated academic excellence with a 4.0 GPA who has demonstrated excellence across academics, athletics, leadership, and service. A committed leader and role model, Danielle has contributed over 200 hours as a mentor with Treasure Coast Basketball and an additional 50 hours serving her community through Grace Place Soup Kitchen. Her passion for helping others reflects her strong character and commitment to making a positive impact beyond the classroom. Danielle is a versatile multi-sport athlete, competing in basketball, bowling, and lacrosse. As a captain of the basketball team, she earned Sixth Man of the Year honors in 2023 and was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2024. She also served as captain of the bowling team, where she was recognized with the Falcon Award in 2024 and the Scholar-Athlete Award in 2025. The daughter of Rod and Christine Bell, Danielle plans to continue her academic journey at Florida State University, where she will build upon her strong foundation of leadership, service, and achievement.

About the Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team
Twelve male and female student-athletes from across Florida were honored for their exemplary achievements at the banquet. The recognition of the Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team is part of the organization’s ongoing mission of building leaders through teamwork, sportsmanship, and citizenship. These athletes exemplify all the values the FHSAA upholds.

The group was awarded a total of $50,000 in scholarships. Each of the 24 Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team members received a $1,700 scholarship from the FHSAA, with Lubetsky and Bell receiving an additional $4,600 for a total of a $6,300 scholarship.

To be eligible for selection to the Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team, a student-athlete must be a graduating senior, have a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have earned a varsity letter in at least two different sports during each of his or her junior and senior years. Members were selected based on academic record, athletic participation, non-athletic activities, community service and an essay.

The FHSAA is the governing body for high school athletics in Florida, but its mission goes far beyond athletics. To the FHSAA, a student-athlete is most importantly a student first. The Florida Dairy Famers Academic All-State Team embodies the organization’s commitment to recognizing student-athletes who have shown outstanding dedication not only to athletic excellence but also to academic achievement and service to the community.

Florida Dairy Farmers (FDF) is Florida’s milk promotion organization, representing the state’s hardworking dairy farm families who locally produce more than 300 million gallons of fresh milk each year. FDF’s sponsorship of the Academic All-State Team complements the organization’s long history of supporting Florida’s student-athletes.

About the FHSAA
The Florida High School Athletic Association supervises and regulates interscholastic athletic programs for high school students at member public, private and charter schools. The organization also recognizes and honors academic achievement among student-athletes at over 850 middle, junior and senior high schools statewide. Headquartered in Gainesville, it is the official governing body for interscholastic athletics in Florida.
