GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with Lee County Sports Development, the 2022 Florida High School Baseball State Championships will take place over the next two weeks at the Lee County Sports Complex’s – Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. This will mark the fifth year overall that the Spring Training site of Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins, and the summer home of the Florida State League's Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, will host the best high school baseball teams in Florida.
Built within a final four style format, this multiple day championship event will consist of both semifinal and championship title games in each classification. To qualify for their respective state championship game, teams will compete in their classification’s semifinal matchup in the days prior.

Of the week's competing teams, Douglas (Parkland), Out-of-Door (Sarasota), and North Broward Prep (Coconut Creek) all still remain on a quest to repeat their 2021 success. Douglas, in Class 7A, will be seeking the school's third championship overall (titles in 2016 & 2021), while in Class 2A, Out-of-Door is seeking their second overall championship. North Broward Prep will also be seeking their second overall title, but will attempt to do so in Class 3A this year, after moving down from Class 4A where they competed in 2021. Additionally, perennial powers Jesuit (Tampa), North Florida Christian (Tallahassee), Pace, and Miami Christian are each seeking an additional title to move up in the state record book for overall team championships.
