2022 Track & Field State Championships: Know Before You Go

To be held at UF’s James G. Pressly Stadium, Percy Beard Track in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with the Gainesville Sports Commission, the Florida High School Track & Field State Championships will make a long-awaited return (since 2004) to James G. Pressly Stadium, Percy Beard Track and the University of Florida’s campus in Gainesville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the originally scheduled return was delayed by additional two years due to venue concerns. Set as a single day event for each classification, competition will commence on Wednesday with Class 1A, continue Thursday and Friday with Classes 2A & 3A respectively, and conclude on Saturday with Class 4A.

Each athlete descending on the University of Florida’s campus this weekend became eligible to compete in their respective event(s) after qualifying and advancing throughout the District and Regional rounds that have taken place over the last few weeks. In addition to crowning individual state champions by classification and for each event, overall team championships will be awarded in each classification as well.

Tickets are currently on sale and available through GoFan for an advanced purchase rate of $11.00 per day, and a day of price of $14.00. A $2.00 parking fee per person is already included in each ticket of admission, with event parking only allowed within the Flavet Field Parking lot.
