ORLANDO, Fl. – The Florida High School Athletic Association’s (FHSAA) Eligibility and Compliance Department joined coaches from across the state Wednesday at the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Clinic in Orlando, providing member schools with an opportunity to complete their annual compliance seminar requirement.
“We spoke about some of the legislative changes that took place over the summer with Senate Bill 538, talking about non-traditional students, where they can participate, and transfer rules as well,” said Administrator of Eligibility & Compliance Stephanie Shafer.
While Wednesday’s session focused on compliance, the broader FACA Clinic gives coaches the opportunity to expand their knowledge and take what they learn back to their schools.
“It’s always a great time of community, fellowship, and just kind of a refreshers and reminders and notes of how to make best practices,” said Shafer.
A representative from the FHSAA’s Athletic Services Department also presented during the clinic on Wednesday.
