GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For nearly three decades, the RP Funding Center and Jenkins Arena have hosted to the Florida High School Boys Basketball State Championships, and the 2023 state championships will mark the 42^nd time the City of Lakeland has hosted the boys event overall. Built within a final four style format, this four-day championship event will consist of both semifinal and championship title games over seven classifications (1A-7A). To qualify for their respective state championship games on Friday and Saturday, teams will compete in semifinal matchups earlier in the week.

Of the weekend's competing teams, only two state champions return this year in title defense, as both Columbus (Miami) and Orlando Christian Prep will be vying for repeat performances at this year’s event. The Warriors of Orlando Christian Prep seek to continue their march up the state record book and will be seeking their fourth straight and eleventh overall championship in school history.
