2024 Girls Volleyball State Championships: Know Before You Go

To be held at Polk State College - Winter Haven Health Center in Winter Haven

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Partnering with both Polk County Public Schools and Visit Central Florida for the third straight year, the 2024 Florida High School Girls Volleyball State Championships are set to take place this week at the Winter Haven Health Center on the campus of Polk State College in Winter Haven. Competing once again in a final four team format, semifinal matches will take place in the days preceding the classification’s championship match.

Event notables for 2024 include five of last years’ seven state champions returning to defend their title. Due to classification realignment, along with the addition of the new Rural Class, eight champions will now be crowned at this year’s state championships. Due to that, multiple defending champions have now moved classifications. The event will be headlined by perennial power, twelve-time and current Class 7A defending champion Plant (Tampa). The Panthers seek their third title in the last four years as they continue their ascension up the overall record book. Seven-time and current Class 6A state champions St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) will be seeking their eighth title overall in hopes of tying for sixth place in the state record books. Seacrest Country Day (Naples) of Class 1A (formerly of 2A) will look to keep their current hot streak alive as they pursue their fourth consecutive title in as many years. Additionally, both Baker, defending Class 1A champion, and Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest), defending Class 4A champion will seek to have that same success from 2023 in both the Rural and 3A classes respectively. The Gators and Raiders are both coming off their first girls’ volleyball championships in school history and will be seeking that same winning pedigree at this year’s event.

Tickets for the event are currently on sale and being sold by day through GoFan for an advanced purchase rate of $14.00, and a day of price of $17.00. The cost of parking is already included in each ticket of admission, and no onsite sales will take place. On behalf of Visit Central Florida, SEQL photography will be onsite and offering free event photo downloads to attendees.
