GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with Visit Central Florida Sports, the 2024 Florida High School Soccer State Championships in Classes 2A-4A will take place this week at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park, Soccer Stadium Field in Auburndale. This year marks the first time that the City of Auburndale and Polk County will play host to the State Championship Event. Classes 5A-7A will compete during the second week of the championship event, taking place next week in DeLand.

This first week of championship soccer is a five-day event and marks a return to the four-team format at the state championships. Semifinal matches in both genders will take place earlier in the week, with each classification’s state championship match taking to the pitch on either Friday or Saturday. All teams qualified for the championship event after surviving their Regional Final matchups this past week.

Of this first week’s competing teams, many are back to defend their 2023 state championships and could face off in some title game rematches. For the girls in Class 2A, last year’s title game competitors of Lakeland Christian and St. John’s Country Day (Orange Park) both return to the event. The Spartans will be seeking their fourteenth overall title this year after a dominant streak of consecutive titles came to a close, while the Vikings will be seeking their fourth consecutive title. In girls class 3A, Montverde Academy is also back to defend their 2023 title and will also be seeking their fourth overall title in school history. Just as in Class 2A, a title game rematch of 2023 could happen, as their opponent in that match, NSU University School (Fort Lauderdale) has also qualified for the event. In Class 4A, Bishop Moore (Orlando) will return in search of their eight overall state title, and will matchup in their semifinal match against their 2023 championship opponent American Heritage (Delray Beach).

On the boy’s side, Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest) will be the only returning 2023 state champion. The Raiders will be seeking their eighth overall title as they attempt to go back to back in Class 4A.

Tickets are currently on sale and available via GoFan for an advanced purchase rate of $11.00 per day, and a day of price of $14.00. For a complete schedule, along with the state series brackets, as well as additional event information, please see below or visit the soccer sport page.
