Football Classifications Available for 2026-27 & 2027-28

District Coordinators to be announced next week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Following the January 29 FHSAA Board of Directors meeting, at the direction of the Board, the Rural class and Class 1A were combined into one classification (1A).  The new classifications are now available for 1A-6A.  A majority of the changes took place in 1A and 2A, but please check your school's placement regardless of your class. The Independent Series teams will be released at a later date once solidified.  

The FHSAA football classifications are for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years. Click on the files below to view the classifications. 

The remaining Fall Sport Classifications will be released this Spring.

3A: 1,000-1,499 (77 teams)
4A: 1,500-1,899 (87 teams)
5A: 1,900-2,399 (79 teams)

About the FHSAA
The Florida High School Athletic Association supervises and regulates interscholastic athletic programs for high school students at member public, private and charter schools. The organization also recognizes and honors academic achievement among student-athletes at over 850 middle, junior and senior high schools statewide. Headquartered in Gainesville, it is the official governing body for interscholastic athletics in Florida.
