GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 2026 Florida High School Athletic Association football season will commence on Monday, July 27^th with the first official practice/tryout date. This is for non-contact participation. Practice with allowable contact will begin Saturday, August 1^st. The road to a state championship will get underway with the first regular season games allowed to begin on Friday, August 21^st. The last allowable District playing date will be Friday, October 23^rd, and the last regular season game must be concluded by Friday, October 30^th. All post-season dates, as well as important information about football can be found below.
