GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with Polk County Public Schools and Polk County Sports Marketing, the Florida High School Girls Volleyball State Championships are set to take place this weekend at the Winter Haven Health Center on the campus of Polk State College in Winter Haven. This will be the first time that Polk State College will host the championship event. There are multiple event notables this year, highlighted by two returning champions from 2021. Both Seacrest Country Day (Naples), Class 2A, and Santa Fe (Alachua), Class 4A, return to their championship matches this year seeking repeat performances. Seacrest Country Day is seeking their third overall title in school history as they compete against Boca Raton Christian, while Santa Fe is seeking their second as they take on Holy Names (Tampa). Holy Names is in the title match for the first time since 1997 and will be in search of their third ever title - but first since 1977.

The matchup between Baker and Liberty County (Bristol) means there will be a new champion for the first time since 2013 in Class 1A, as nine-time defending champion Sneads was knocked out by Liberty County earlier in the playoffs. This 1A title tilt pits schools in that have made the title match in a previous season, but neither has ever secured a state championship in girls’ volleyball for their school. Class 6A will also see a first-time champion in either New Smyrna Beach or Viera (Melbourne).

In Class 3A, Clearwater Central Catholic seeks their fourth overall title in history as they take on Westminster Christian (Miami), who is seeking their second overall championship. Jensen Beach will be seeking its fifth state championship overall when it takes on Barron Collier (Naples) in the Class 5A matchup, while the Lady Cougars will seek their first ever state championship. In Class 7A, perennial power Venice will be seeking its sixth overall title, where their opponent Hagerty (Oviedo) will look to claim their second championship in school history.

Tickets for the event are currently on sale and being sold by day through GoFan for an advanced purchase rate of $9.00, and a day of price of $12.00. For streaming information, tournament brackets and additional facility information, please see the information below or visit the girls’ volleyball sport page.
