GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The
Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Florida High School Athletic Association
have announced that the 2024 girls flag football season will culminate in Tampa Bay, as the Buccaneers will host the 2024 Florida High School Flag Football State Championships. The event will take place on May 10
th and 11
th at the
AdventHealth Training Center, which serves as the indoor practice facility to the Buccaneers. This announcement was made on Tuesday evening as part of Kickoff Night for the sixth annual Buccaneers Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic.
This will mark the first time the Buccaneers host the state title matchups, having previously hosted a pair of regional playoff games back in 2023. Built within a final four style format, the two-day championship event will consist of semifinal and state championship games, in both the 1A and 2A classifications. To qualify for their respective state championship games on Saturday, teams will compete in a semifinal matchup on Friday.

For a sport that has seen record growth over the last decade, this partnership is going to continue to elevate the sport of flag football at the high school level here in the state of Florida.”
The event adds to the Buccaneer’s extensive involvement in the flag football landscape, with its Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic, presented by AdventHealth, serving as the largest girls flag football tournament in the country. Now in its sixth year, the annual competition will take place from Wednesday, February 14
th through Saturday, February 17
th with over 100 teams competing representing 18 counties from throughout the state of Florida.
The AdventHealth Training Center is located at One Bucanneer Place and currently serves as the indoor practice facility for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . The 100,000 square foot, air conditioned practice enclosure was originally completed prior to the 2017 NFL Football season.
