GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the fourth consecutive year, the Florida High School Water Polo State Championships will take place at the
Gian Zumpano Aquatic Center, located on the campus of
Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami. Built within a final four style format, this two-day championship event will consist of both semifinal and championship title games in both genders. To qualify for their respective state championship games on Saturday, teams will compete in a semifinal matchup on Friday.
Of note this weekend, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) will look to repeat as state champions after claiming the 2023 boys title last year. On the girl's side, we will crown a new state champion. Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest) will have an opportunity to claim a championship in both genders and add to their trophy case which already contains multiple championships for both. Dr. Phillips (Orlando) boys will be seeking their first state championship after most recently finishing runners-up back in 2022. Meanwhile, the Seminole (Sanford) boys and girls teams, along with the girls’ teams from Miami Country Day and West Orange (Winter Garden) will all be seeking to claim their first state titles in school history.
