2026 Soccer State Championships Week #1: Know Before You Go

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with Visit Central Florida Sports, the 2026 Florida High School Soccer State Championships in Classes 1A-3A will take place this week at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park, Soccer Stadium Field in Auburndale. This is the third consecutive year the City of Auburndale and Polk County will play host to a portion of the State Championship Event. Classes 4A-7A will compete during the second week of the championship event, which will take place next week in DeLand.

This first week of championship soccer is a five-day event, with semifinal matches in both genders taking place earlier in the week, and each classification’s state championship match taking to the pitch in the days following. All teams that have qualified for the championship event after surviving their Regional Semifinal and Final matchups this past week.

Of this week’s competing teams, only Class 1A will have returning champions at the event in defense of their state championships from 2025. On the girls’ side, St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park) enters the week seeking to tie St. Thomas Aquinas with their record leading 15th overall championship. On the boys’ side of Class 1A, Pine School (Hobe Sound) will attempt to go back-to-back after claiming their school’s first title last year. In Class 2A Girls, only Lakeland Christian has ever claimed a championship previously, after winning four straight from 2021-2024. Similarly, on the boys’ side of Class 2A, Tampa Prep is the only school that has brought home a state title in the past, as they will seek their ninth overall soccer title this year. In Class 3A, both Montverde Academy and Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale) girls have each claimed a state championship. The Eagles have four and the Chiefs have one title respectively in their school’s storied athletic program histories. Meanwhile, the boys 3A tournament will feature a first-time state champion with Cocoa Beach, Somerset Canyons (Boynton Beach) and Santa Fe (Alachua) all making their first ever final four appearances.
